Welcome to MPBC!

We strongly believe that every Christian should be involved in a local church. Church membership is important as it provides the foundation for our core values: Worship God Personally, Walk With Other Believers, Work for God¹s Kingdom, and Witness as a Way of Life.

A requirement for membership for those over 18 years of age is a short Mount Pleasant introductory course. During this “Welcome to MPBC” course, we discuss what we believe, who we are, what you should expect from MPBC and what MPBC should expect from you, as well as learn a little bit about the Pastor and the church. We offer our class every other month on Sunday mornings. After attending our membership class, there are three ways to join:

Baptism

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.  It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord’s Supper.

Transfer of Letter

For the individual who has accepted Christ, been baptized by immersion and is a member of another Baptist church; a letter of transfer will be requested on your behalf.

Statement of Belief

For the individual who has accepted Christ, been baptized by immersion and is NOT a member of another Baptist church; your statement of Faith in Christ and desire to join with us will suffice.
