“… you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8b
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
Here at Mount Pleasant we Give, Pray & Go with missional purpose – to meet people where they are and point them to Jesus.
For the individual who has accepted Christ, been baptized by immersion and is a member of another Baptist church; a letter of transfer will be requested on your behalf.
Here at Mount Pleasant, we give annually to the Cooperative Program, International Mission Board, North American Mission Board and various other Missions Groups. Over 15% of annual donations go to spread the Gospel through our various missions partnerships.
Some of our partnerships we support with prayer, donations, and volunteers:
In 1925, the Southern Baptist Convention established the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program – CP Missions – enables all Southern Baptists to work together to support missions efforts world-wide.
International Mission Board’s mission is to make disciples of all peoples in fulfillment of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. They support 5,000 plus missionaries in different countries. As a result of the work of the IMB, hundreds of thousands of new believers are baptized each year outside of North America.
The IMB serves as the international sending agency of the Southern Baptist Convention. Located in Richmond, most of our international missionaries have come through the IMB // Annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) in December.
The North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting.
NAMB sends out thousands of missionaries each year and supports church planting efforts on our “home soil”. Hundreds of thousands of people are baptized each year as a result of individual Southern Baptists becoming Partners in the Harvest.
Annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) in the Spring.
The Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia is a fellowship of more than 570 churches dedicated to the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Annual Vision Virginia Offering in September.
In addition to working cooperatively with other churches, organizations and sending agencies, we support some missionaries directly. Stop by the church office for updated prayer cards for all of our MPBC missionary families.
We want to enable, equip, and encourage our church family to put their mission in action. In addition to local missions and outreach, this means organizing opportunities for short-term mission trips throughout the year.
Look for updates in our newsletter on ways to get involved.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
We partner with schools, businesses, government, civic organizations and other area churches to help meet the needs of our community and be faithful servants of the Gospel to our neighbors. We love our city, and we love its people.
