Our Deacons are a vital part of ministering to the Mount Pleasant family.

These men are models of servanthood and caring for the needs of others.

Our church is always looking for godly, mature, servant-leaders to join our Deacon Ministry.  As part of the search process, we are asking members to prayerfully consider and suggest men they feel may be qualified to serve in our Deacon Ministry.

Please review the biblical qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:8–13, then submit the names of the men who fit those qualifications and would be good examples of the servant-leaders the Deacons represent. Please return by  May 12.

“Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, not pursuing dishonest gain.  They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.  They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.  Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.” (I Timothy 3:8-13)

Note:  Suggested names will be given to the Deacon Screening Team to begin the process of interviewing and screening potential candidates to verify interest and ensure they meet the biblical qualifications as well as MPBC Leadership Standards.
